I have always liked nature and having the experience to go mandarin picking was one of the most memorable things I have done during my stay here. The scenery surrounding the place was amazing. As the day went on, the weather cleared and I could see the sea and Mt. Fuj, albeit briefly. Following the advice given by the grounds keepers, I enjoyed my time choosing the ‘right’ trees and picking the sweetest mandarins we could find. We were given the opportunity to walk around the grounds and I had fun exploring the whole place with my friends. There were a lot of things to see, and everything was really beautiful. I am glad I joined this event, not only because of the mandarins but also the whole trip itself made for a memorable experience on my exchange. I got the chance to talk to people who I rarely talked to. I feel grateful that Showa Women’s University provides us with such events that helps us make us the best of our stay here in Japan. It will be an experience I never forget!
