7月12日（水）の昼休みに、英語コミュニケーション学科、国際学科合同の2017年度後期留学出発式が実施されました。
ボストンに加えアルカラ大学（スペイン）、上海交通大学（中国）、ソウル女子大学（韓国）、西江大学（韓国）、淑明女子大学（韓国）、誠信女子大学（韓国）、ベトナム国家大学ハノイ校（ベトナム）に留学する200名弱の学生が参加し、副学長の増澤先生の講話のあと、学生代表が英語、スペイン語、中国語、韓国語、ベトナム語で決意表明の挨拶をしました。
＜ボストン留学者のスピーチ＞
In about two months, we are going to Boston. I’m sure each and every one of you have a lot of expectations as well as some worries.
Like you, I expect to greatly improve my English skills in Boston, by doing much more than just studying in class or studying for exams. I would like to challenge myself to be active, to go outside the classroom, to communicate with people in Boston.
Like you, I also expect to experience American culture first hand, learn the differences between Japan and America, and broaden my way of thinking.
Like you, I want to learn as much about America as possibole, including its history, people and social issues. I especially look forward to visiting the great museums in and around Boston.
I, however, also have some worries like you do. I worry about not being able to speak English well. I worry that I may remain passive and dependent. I also worry about small things like keeping my room tidy, eating healthy, etc. But I’m determined to conquer all my fears and weaknesses so that I will be who I want to be when I come back to Japan.
Studying abroad for an extended period of time is not easy, but let’s be strong and make the best of it together.
Finally, we would like to express our deep gratitude to all the support and help we have received from our teachers and families.
