I’m going to study in Boston for one year. My purpose is to improve my English and intercultural communication skills, so that someday I can work to help children in developing nations.
When I was a junior high school student, I saw a small Asian boy fighting in a war on TV. I was shocked. I couldn’t understand why, but it was clear poverty was the reason. This made me interested in international affairs and I decided to study hard to be able to work to help these children.
Right now, I’m volunteering with a students’ organization to send books to Nepalese children. One day we visited a Nepalese elementary school in Tokyo. The children spoke English to us, because English is an international language, but I had trouble communicating with them. This experience made me want to study English harder.
In Boston, I’m going to actively participate in all the programs they offer, so that I can move closer to my goal, which is to help children.
